My Journey Part II
When you’re on a difficult journey, like with weight loss, it’s easy to get lost and forget to celebrate the good things. I just had an event the other day where there were tons of pictures, full body pictures, taken of me and I immediately picked them apart. I’ve lost 32 lbs so far and instead of saying “damn, good job me!” I saw the pictures and was disappointed.
I have the picture on the right framed on our mantle. It’s one of my favorite pictures of Chris and I, even though I’m at my heaviest. I’ll never not love that picture.
But to show myself how far I’ve come I put it next to my pictures from Monday. The ones I was embarrassed to look at.
And, “damn, good job me!”
I have a neck and cheekbones again. Wider and brighter eyes and smile. Same me, more glow.
If you are on a tough journey, that you know is going to take a long time, make sure you celebrate yourself along the way. Give yourself the “damn, good job me!” moments because you deserve them.
Do you guys have any “damn...” photo comparisons you can share? Of yourself, your home, your projects...whatever you are proud of. I’d love to see them.
